Blue Light & Levulan

Blue light is approved by the FDA and uses photodynamic therapy to kill the p. acne bacteria in skin which causes moderate acne.  Treatments take about 15 minutes and can occur twice per week. 
Levulan®, while created for actinic keratosis, has proven effective in the treatment of cystic acne.  Levulan is applied by an aesthetician and allowed to penetrate the skin for one hour.  This is immediately followed by exposure to the BLU-U blue light for maximum effectiveness in treating acne.  This Luvulan treatment can be done monthly and three consecutive treatments are usually recommended.
